Weekly Talking Points - week of 8/2/10

We are back from our trip and glad to be home!  We just got in last night and is why Talking Points is a day late.

We had a great visit in Michigan visiting family and friends.  I had a chance to have dinner with some fabulous WH friends to say goodbye to Rebecca Wawzyniak, whose family is moving to Germany in a few weeks.  If you want to say goodbye to Rebecca, email her at rebecca.wawzyniak@sbcglobal.net.  We're hoping she's going to return to the U.S. and start WH again!  Farewell, sweet friend!

I'm sure you are all excited about the launch of Willow House tomorrow, as our workstation comes back up with its new look.  Your websites will reflect your new business too!  A whole new look and feel, and lots of excitement building!

Enjoy all of the new stuff tomorrow!

This week . . .

This is intended to be quick bullet points of things to think about, do or be aware of for this week.

  • Be aware of two great resources for product ideas and information:  www.willowhouse.com/tips and www.plateandpattern.com.  It's fascinating to read some of the things written, and gives you design ideas as well as the inside scoop on products and even our logo!  Check them out!
  • This is the recording from last week's WH Product Call:  72310 know your products.mp3.  I'm not sure this will work, but give it a try!
  • Clarification on entering orders online when the system comes up tomorrow:  The system will pretty much work as it does now.  If a customer wants to place an order, she can place it online through your website with a host's name entered.  The $125 minumum order still remains if someone is placing a separate order.  Once our next phase comes in October, customers will be able to place individual orders without the minumum and ship them direct to their homes.  This new feature is NOT in this phase.
  • Remember to finish up changes and additions to your Insider addresses and content.  The Insider is scheduled to go out on August 6, so be ready!
  • Change your website address once the workstation is up.  You can change it under Newsletter Service.
  • Here's a message from Butch in regards to the workstation:

The conversion of the system went as planned and we should be back online on Wednesday morning. Commissions were completed yesterday and the results will be available on Wednesday morning.  Looking forward to a great August for recruiting and sales from our new catalog. The staff is excited and has a sense of a great future because so many Design Consultants are so positive about our new company. Let us know if we can help in any way.

  • Also from Butch:  It looks like there will be a delay in the shipment of the Galveston Footed Hurricane (41152).  We are trying to minimize the impact as much as possible.  It will not affect the shipping of Starter Kits. Kits will ship immediately, but will not have the Hurricane included. The Hurricane will ship as soon as it arrives and we will attach a note to the packing slip explaining the delay and expected delivery of the Hurricane.  The Hurricane will be on stop sell until August 23rd. What this means is that you can still sell the Hurricane, but you can't enter the order until August 23rd.
      • Terra Vida Bowl and Platter: expected September
      • Botanica Tiered Planter: expected August 22
      • Galveston Footed Hurricane: expected August 23
  • The design deck (page 2 of the starter kit design deck) states and on page 80 of catalog (top left corner) that you CANNOT select magazines for the HOST REWARDS Program (free or 1/2 price) and customers cannot select their ½ price item as a magazine. Thanks, Pam, for this information.
  • The Terra Vida products are a very unique and labor-intensive product, with its unique reactive-type glaze.  Before the product is fired, it looks totally beige.  Once the firing happens, it turns the beautiful color and design you see.  It is completely hand done and produced by a small "mom and pop" operation.  It is the ONLY facility in the world that can create it.  Unfortunately, 1000 of these platters and bowls were destroyed when the plant manager had a heart attack and fell into a large shelving unit holding the product and it all fell to the ground.  Only 20 of the 1000 pieces were salvaged.  They are now working seven days a week trying to reproduce product.  The bowl will come off stop sell on 9/1 (estimated) and the platter will become available 10/1.  The company understands this product's demand is HUGE and is doing everything they can to get it back on track.  Butch is concerned if he backorders it in August that it will create too large of a backlog and we will have problems with it throughout the fall season, so he is placing it on Stop Sell instead.  Be patient with this one!  The plant manager did survive, by the way!
  •  If you are looking for ways to work with Facebook, google Instructions on using Facebook, and you'll find several great resources!
  •  From Melissa Cherry:  Updating everything for Willow House and just ordered a new stamp for all of my catalogs and brochures.  Tammy Schweitzer has used these with great success.  They have free shipping right now and the right size for the catalog is the Ideal 200. It's only $15.99 and much more cost effective than labels!  You can visit their website:  www.rubberstampchamp.com.  Search for the Ideal 200 to find the exact stamp.
  • If you have prospects gearing up for the launch of Willow House, you will be able to send them their online agreement on 8/4.  Kits will begin shipping 8/5.  The warehouse will begin buiding kits this week and will have all kits ready for shipment in August.  They can ship 700-800 kits per day, so depending on the number of contracts received, all kits should be shipped within a few days.
  • The new shipping and handling rates go into effect on 8/4.  It is a flat 10% on all items shipped to the hostess (with a $4 minimum), and the customer can choose to ship it to their home for a flat 15% (with a $7 minimum).  Shipping is charged on all items.  Hostesses will now have to pay a flat rate of $9.96 for her entire hostess order; very reasonable.  There will now also be a flat $9.96 shipping charge on all kits.
  • Be aware that the Think Big program has been renamed and is now Success Start again.  The new consultant must achieve her first $1000 in sales within her first full month of business (there are no 2nd and 3rd months).  She can now select her own products with a $50 product credit, $50 in business supply credit, and the WH pin.  The sponsoring portion remains the same, with the abiltity to sponsor and qualify up to five recruits within their first three full months of business to earn the $2000 award.
  • There has been some updates made to my website:  www.connie-ashburn.com.  Check them out!  Someone created a list of Customer Special eligible items by category, in addition to the 1/2 price amount.  She uses this list during the order write up stage, and tells the customer if they qualify for an item at 50% off and has them review the list.  People that had not added a special at that point are adding a special on once they review the list and see the savings.  I would recommend printing the list off and laminating it.  It will be uploaded to my site today.  Also, a new Customer Care Card has been created.  I'll try to get that uploaded too.  Send me things you've created!
  • New spring colors for the PACK & GO Bags are now available!  Check them out!  You will love the ease of packing up after your parties!  These bags make it so quick and easy!  Check out the new header on my website.  No more bubble wrap, no more chipped product, no more packing issues!  The fleece bags come in four sizes and make packing up a breeze!  Check out my website under Pack & Go Bagsfor description and pricing, plus additional pictures of the bags. You're going to love them! The bags are made of a high quality fleece that stretches, so platters, bowls, lanterns . . . you name it, they fit in these bags! My website has all ordering information: www.connie-ashburn.com
  • New Consultant Training:  The calls are offered the first through fourth Thursdays every month at 12:00 noon-12:40 eastern; each week new topics are covered and intended to give your new consultants an overview of most aspects of getting their businesses off to a good start.  Invite your consultants to call in!  Call-in: 712-451-6100, Code 1009748#. Also, the documents referenced are now uploaded to my website - www.connie-ashburn.com
  • You do not need to forward this communication to those on your team because it does go out to all HOME Team consultants.  If you decide to foward it on to a new consultant that may not be added yet, you must use the Forward email that's at the bottom of this email.  If you forward through regular email and someone you forwarded it to unsubscribes, it will unsubscribe you too.  This is also posted on my website each week.

Have a great week!

Connie
